Norwich and Norfolk Terriers
A variety of terriers came from in England just before and throughout the 1800s. Vermin, includ-ing rats and small potential predators, were the prey for many of these working terriers. Frank ?Roughrider? Johnson, a charming animal breeder, developed the breed that grew to become referred to as Norwich Terrier. Once the first breed standard was written, the erect ear and dropped ear types continued to be one breed, the Norwich. In 1964, the British Kennel Club built them into two breeds: the Norwich with erect ears (pictured here) and also the Norfolk with dropped ears.
Both of these terrier breeds are actually separate but they are still much the same. They stand 9 to 10 inches tall and weigh between 11 and 12 pounds. The mind is wide and also the eyes small , dark. Your body is compact, with wide and rounded ribs. The tail is docked. The coat is difficult and straight, by having an undercoat. Acceptable colors include red-colored, wheaten, black and tan, and grey.
The coat requires weekly brushing, except throughout the spring and fall losing seasons, once the undercoat may require more frequent brushing. The outer coat needs hands-draining a couple of occasions annually potential proprietors should discuss this requirement having a breeder just before purchasing a puppy. The Norwich and Norfolk Terrier Club states, ?A lengthy walk or energetic play inside the yard for 20 to 30 minutes per day could keep your Norwich or Norfolk happy and fit.? These two breeds have participated effectively in terrier go-to-ground tests in addition to agility and monitoring. Both breeds are receptive to training however, as terriers, they may be quite independent. Fortunately, they're usually food-motivated, that make training simpler. Although careful and cautious about other people, they aren't normally barkers.
Your dog of either breed needs the owner who knows the terrier temperament. Both breeds are great with gentle chil-dren, although youthful dogs could be rowdy. These dogs shouldn't be reliable with more compact pets. Health issues include eye disorders and stylish dysplasia.
